The Irazu Volcano has a long history of eruptions which consist of huge clouds of vapor and ash. Its most recent eruption was in in 1963.
Often these eruptive clouds are accompanied by tremors and underground rumblings that can be heard all around the slopes of the volcano, and sometimes even as far away as the central valley.
