Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio is the most visited park in Costa Rica. Manuel Antonio National Park is a small park just south of the pacific port of Quepos, Puntarenas. It is about 130 km away from the capital of San Jose. Established in 1972 with an area of about 4,000 acres (16 square kilometes) is the smallest of all Costa Rican national parks. Because of its beautiful beaches and wildlife, about 150,000 visitors arrive there every year making it the most visited park in Costa Rica. Four beaches are contained within the limits of the park: Manuel Antonio, Espadilla Sur, Escondido, and Playita. The first is separated from the second by a natural land bridge made of sand.
