Zoo Ave

Zoo Ave is one of the most modern zoos in Latin America. It is located in La Garita de Alajuela which is about 30 minutes from San Jose.
The zoo mantains a collection of more than 100 species of birds, 20 species of mammals, and 15 species of reptiles. Most of the specimens are native to Costa Rica.
They also mantain a breeding project for endangered species that are eventually released back to nature. So when you visit the zoo, you will be contributing to the reproduction and preservation of the natural wildlife of Costa Rica. Picture taken from the Costa Rica Photo Collection
