Barva

Barva is located North of the Central Valley on the slopes of the Barva Volcano.
The name "Barva" comes from the indian chief's name of "Barvac" or "Barva" that was ruling the area when the Spanish came, that's why the valley was first called "Valle de Barva".
The people of Barva are known to be good artists and craftsman.
The town conserves a true colonial look and it is worth visiting.
Recently, the park has been decorated with modern art statues of different Costa Rican artists that have donated their work to the town.
Coffee is grown in the slopes of the volcano, higher up the slopes there is milk and cheese production, flowers, and forestry farms.
